Three members of the CLARITY Initiative have released a Spanish-language report (pdf, 1.7mb) on a seminar introducing CLARITY to two prominent Nicaraguan cooperative organizations. The seminar led to the development of the CLARITY Scorecard and provided Nicaraguan cooperatives with a roadmap for evaluating their country’s legal environment for cooperatives.

Since its beginnings in 2005, the CLARITY Initiative has published two reports:  Enabling Cooperative Development: Principles for Legal Reform (Principles for Legal Reform) and Creating CLARITY (Assessment, Analysis & Outreach).  This section focuses on these reports, which provide the foundation for the reform of laws and regulations affecting cooperative development worldwide.

The reports will be supported by workshops, lectures and additional tools and materials for cooperative movements as they work toward legal reform.

The Cooperative Law and Regulation Initiative (CLARITY) is conducted by the members of the U.S. Overseas Cooperative Development Council (OCDC) with funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
